- SEA BRIGHT – According to Sea Bright Borough officials the planned resurfacing of Highway 36 north of the Rumson-Sea Bright Bridge by the NJDOT, which was awarded in September, is scheduled to begin on February 28.

- RED BANK – By a vote of 4-0 with one abstention on Jan. 10, members of the borough governing body agreed to accept the terms of a settlement negotiated between the borough and the Community YMCA resolving a dispute over ownership of a 51 Monmouth Street property that once served as borough hall and police headquarters.
- Christie Administration Approves 23 New Charter Schools
- NEWARK, N.J. (AP) – The New Jersey Education Department has approved applications for 23 new charter schools to open in September, including the state's first independent school for children with autism.
- Subjects Arrested For Shoplifting From Kohls Store
- MIDDLETOWN – Middletown police arrested two people on shoplifting charges last Tuesday, Jan. 11. At approximately 2:45 p.m., police received a call from the Kohls Department Store reporting a shoplifting.
