Sea Bright To Launch Business Parking Permits
By Ryan Fennell
SEA BRIGHT - To accompany the recently adopted residential permit parking ordinance adopted last month, the Sea Bright Mayor and Council adopted a business parking permit program on Tuesday.
The purpose of the business permit-parking program is to establish a program in areas of the borough to facilitate and make more convenient parking within the borough for persons who work in the commercial areas of the borough.
Each business would be allowed five permits that cannot be reproduced, sold, or transferred. The permit costs $25 per permit.
Fines for violating the permit- parking ordinance would result in a fine of $100. Possession of a permit does not guarantee parking in the borough.
Approximately 44 parking spaces will be designated for business parking only and will be accompanied by appropriate signage.
The business only parking is slated to be located three parking rows from Ocean Avenue in the Municipal Parking Lot as well as to the north of Library and the south end of the Peninsula House parking lot.
Permits can be obtained from the Sea Bright Police Department and are available anytime during the year. However, the permits expire annually on May 30. Renewals would be available beginning on the first Monday of April each year.
Emergency and utility vehicles such as gas and electric and including municipal vehicles would be exempt during the times they are rendering services or repairs.
