RB Police Arrest Man For Vandalism At Shaving Parlor

RED BANK - Police last week arrested a borough man for allegedly trashing a West Front Street business, causing thousands of dollars of damage.

Police arrested Shane Bruno, 34, a borough resident, for vandalizing the Old World Shaving Parlor, 4B West Front Street. Bruno, who was arrested on March 8, allegedly entered the business sometime after the business closed late March 6 or early March 7, where he destroyed mirrors, counter tops, cabinets and pictures hanging on the walls, as well as causing other damage to the premises, charged police, according to Captain Darren McConnell, a police spokesman.

The extent of the damage was estimated at more than $10,000, McConnell said.

Bruno, according to McConnell, had been an employee of the business, which is owned by Patricia Gilmartin, and allegedly retaliated after being fired.

Bruno was charged with burglary, criminal mischief, terroristic threats and harassment, McConnell said.

Bail was set at $47,500 and Bruno was initially taken to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, and released the following day after posting bail, according to police.

Given the crimes and amount of damage, "this has been forwarded to the [Monmouth County] Prosecutor's Office," in Freehold, for prosecution, McConnell said.
