TRT™ Owner Diane Gooch To Run For Congress

RED BANK - Diane Gooch, the Monmouth County Republican Vice Chair and Two River Times™ owner, who is well known for her charitable work on behalf of many regional non-profit groups, has formalized her candidacy for Congress in New Jersey's 6th Congressional district. The Gooch campaign has filed the necessary paperwork with the Federal Elections Commission, making official her bid to unseat 22-year incumbent Frank Pallone.

Diane spent last Thursday, March 4 meeting residents at a Sayreville Diner and talking with Republican Party officials and activists throughout the district in preparation for the upcoming conventions and candidate screenings. "Representing the people of this district requires listening. The reason Washington has grown so tone deaf is because they have stopped listening to us. I can't wait to spend the next eight months doing exactly what I did today - meeting voters and sharing ideas about improving our district, our state and our country."

Believing in the greatness of America, but wary of the current leadership in Washington D.C., Diane pledges to give the residents of the 6th congressional district a new voice.

"My family has worked hard to achieve the American Dream, and I want ensure that opportunity remains available to all of our country's children. Today our government is not creating an environment that will allow those dreams to flourish. Instead, our government is saddling our future generations with unsustainable debt to pay for the massive expansion of the federal government," said Diane.

Noting that the incumbent Democrat has been a leading sponsor of legislation for a government-run healthcare system, Diane notes "Frank Pallone has voted with Nancy Pelosi 99.2 percent of the time. He doesn't care about what his constituents want, he cares what his party bosses want." She went on to say, "For more than two-decades, Frank Pallone had his chance to create jobs and be a leader for his community. He had his chance to change Washington. Instead, Washington has changed Frank Pallone. It's time to turn the page" Diane will run on a platform that emphasizes economic recovery by putting Americans back to work, lowering the enormous tax burden that New Jerseyans face, focusing on national and homeland security, and protecting the environmental treasures that our state is so proud of and that are critical to the shore economy.

Diane will make a public campaign announcement on Thursday, March 18th at the Molly Pitcher Inn, in Red Bank.

The 6th congressional district includes parts of Middlesex, Monmouth, Somerset and Union counties.
