UU Congregation To Show Food, Inc.

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County will be hosting a Social Action documentary film series this spring. The opening film is FOOD, INC., which is being shown at 4 p.m. on March 7 at the UU meetinghouse in Lincroft, 1475 W. Front Street. The public is invited to attend. The documentary is described as an exposé of the American food industry.

According to the filmmakers, the film "lifts the veil on our nation's food industry, exposing how our nation's food supply is now controlled by a handful of corporations that often put profit ahead of consumer health, the livelihood of the American farmer, the safety of workers and our own environment."

One review says, "It might change your life." Snacks and a discussion will follow the screening, with special guest Johann Rinkens, a N.J. farmer and food justice activist. This is a free event.
