It's A Three-Way Race For Republicans Vying For 12th District Congressional Run
By Ryan Fennell
OCEANPORT - The race for the Republican nomination in New Jersey's 12th Legislative District is just getting started.
Already in the mix is Fair Haven Mayor Michael Halfacre and Princeton resident and Founder of Westland Ventures, a Princeton-based investment firm, Scott Sipprelle.
Oceanport resident David Corsi, President of Peace of Mind Management Corp., a real estate, finance and property management firm, has thrown his hat into the ring. This is Corsi's second campaign for the 12th District seat. Corsi ran unsuccessfully as an Independent against Democratic incumbent Rush Holt (D-12) in 2008. This year Corsi will be campaigning for the Republican nomination to take on Holt next November. Corsi is married with three children.
Corsi was recently named the vice-president of the New Jersey Association of Real Estate Professionals and has worked closely on tax and financial policies in Washington D.C. and in Trenton.
Corsi has also hosted callin radio shows, "Let's talk Real Estate" and "The Lowdown."
Corsi graduated from William Patterson University with a degree in Business Administration and is a lifelong resident of New Jersey. Corsi said that his campaign slogan is "Had Enough?" and that he is on the side of free enterprise and limited government. "I'm tired of special interest groups working for the benefit of one group over another. Washington has become a den of people worried about getting re-elected. Their knowledge of finance is weak and they make the same mistakes over and over." "We are not producing in this country," Corsi said. "We do have to manufacture." Corsi is looking forward to the contested primar y because he believes it will get several points of view out to the voters rather than having one "chosen" candidate. "It's the way things should go," Corsi said. "The other way leads to staleness."
