Fair Haven's Doughboy Memorial Featured In Video
FAIR HAVEN - The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders has released another installment in its online history project that features the borough's war memorial in a two-and-a-half-minute video available for viewing on the county Web site at www. visitmonmouth.com.
Joining the county's "These Historic Places" video series, is Fair Haven's World War I statue "The Spirit of the American Doughboy" at the center Veterans Memorial Park. Its dedication was in 1924, six years after the "war to end all wars," World War I, had come to an end.
Located in the center of town at the northwest corner of Fair Haven and River roads, the park also includes other memorials to residents who served the United States as members of the Armed Forces and a 9/11 memorial.
