Red Bank Police Investigate Branch Avenue Break-In

RED BANK - Borough police are investigating a Branch Avenue burglary that occurred on Tuesday, Nov. 17.
According to police spokesman Captain Darren McConnell, the burglar entered a Branch Avenue home where he accosted a residentdescribed by police as a "young male."
The alleged perpetrator subdued the resident, bound him, and then proceeded to search the bedroom collecting jewelry and other valuables, according to police.
The victim eventually worked himself free and confronted the burglar, with the two getting into a scuffle, police said. The perpetrator fled the home without taking any items and was last seen leaving the area in a tan colored sedan with out of state registration, possibly Pennsylvania, according to police.
The victim described the alleged perpetrator as a black male approximately 50 years old.
