Bruce Gallipani founded ROCKit! For Kids in 2005 (as part of the Cool School) because he believes in rock and roll...that it offers a whole lot of positive reinforcement and social well-being for today's youth. Kids aged 8-16 audition and if chosen, they get the chance to fulfill a dream by performing live, on the big stage together, where many major artists have performed, right here at the Basie. ROCKit! For Kids is actively involved in community charity efforts through benefit concerts to raise funds for such institutions as the Valerie Center Children's Fund at Monmouth Medical Center, the Red Bank Middle School Performing Arts program, the Bolger Middle School in Keansburg and the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN). Pictured back stage before the Spring show were female rockers Kara Mowery, Bella Gerard, Victoria Pritchard, and in front, Cassie Kalinofski and Brittany Guben.
