Middletown Police Charge Massage Parlor Employees With Prostitution
MIDDLETOWN - On Friday January 23, 2009, police officers from the Middletown Township Police Department arrested two female employees at a Route 35 massage parlor and charged them with prostitution and promoting prostitution.
In early January Middletown Twp. Police received intelligence from several sources about a massage parlor located on Route 35 which was actually a front for a prostitution operation. The investigation enabled detectives to obtain a search warrant for the premises which was executed this past Friday. Police arrested 41- year-old Linden resident Semiramis Veloso, who was charged with promoting prostitution, as the apparent manager of the business and prostitution, and Carla Durant, 37-years-old, from Elizabeth, who was charged with prostitution. Patrons paid for a massage and then Veloso negotiated additional fees for sex.
Veloso and Durant were released on their own recognizance pending future court appearances.
